Borough Lock-up, Bodmin, Cornwall

A small Lock-up existed in the Town Hall (or Guild Hall), on Fore Street, Bodmin.

In 1835, it was recorded that:

The Gaol consists of a single room, which is only used for vagrants, disorderly persons, and offenders committed for examination. After conviction offenders are committed to the county gaol, a building which has recently been much enlarged and improved, and which, undei the superintendance of the present governor, has become remarkable for its excellent arrangements, its order, regularity and perfect cleanliness.
