Wormwood Scrubs Borstal, Hammersmith, London

In 1904, part of Wormwood Scrubs Prison became part of the Borstal system for young offenders.

In 1929 it was made an allocation centre from which newly-sentenced trainees were assessed before being sent to a suitable Borstal.

It continued in this role until 1983 when Borstals were replaced by Youth Custody Centres.
