Send Detention Centre, Send, Surrey

In 1961, the former Clandon isolation hopsital, on Ripley Road, near Send, Surrey, was converted for use as Detention Centre for 75 boys aged 17 to 21. In 1962, it was re-classified as as an establishment for junior boys.

In 1987, it was adapted for use as a 'Category C' Adult Male Training Prison. In the 1990s, the existing buildings were demolished and replaced by a new Female Training Prison.

The establishment is now a closed prison for adult females.
