Town Lock-up, Torquay, Devon

A lock-up, known locally as The Clink, formed part of the Torquay's town hall, police station and public conveniences complex, erected in 1851-2 at the junction of Union Street and Abbey Street.

After the town hall moved to a new building in 1911, the Old Town Hall, as it became known, was used as offices. From 1958 to 2000, the upper room of the building was converted for use as a synagogue. The property, now a listed building, has stood largely empty in recent years but was sold in 2921.
